POLLUTION
Pollution is getting worse day by day. We must do something to this. We see all kinds of pollution like air pollution, water pollution, land pollution and even sound solution. We hear all about them on the television and radio. We also read all about them in the newspapers. Even with this much of attention, the amount of pollution is still on the rise.
There are a lot of causes for air pollution. Fumes from factories and vehicles are the main causes of air pollution. The fumes contain poisonous gas like carbon monoxides. Open-air burning can also cause air pollution. The ash after burning can dirty the air. Water pollution is often caused by oils spills, toxic waste and the use of pesticides like DDT. All these can pollute our precious river and seas. Illegal logging can destroy our green forest and cause erosion which takes away our soil.
Because of all this, all the living planets in this world are suffering. Because of these pollutions, people’s health is affected. Pollution causes diseases like asthma, bronchitis and many more. Pollution also endangers the lives of land and aquatic animal species. Pollution kills a lot of animals and puts them at the edge of extinction. It also destroys the environment.
We should start reducing pollution right away. We should not throw rubbish into the rivers. We should also recycle all the recyclables products like aluminums tins, paper and plastics. As students, we can join the Environment Club in our schools. This club usually organized many activities in improving the condition of the environment.
The government should penalize factories which dispose their toxic waste in rivers or seas. The government should also build a toxic reneutralising plant so that the factory owners can send their toxic waste to proper treatment plans. The government should also be stricter with people who openly burn and litter everywhere. The government should also stop the indiscriminate cutting down the trees.
Pollution is not caused by only one person but because of all. So everybody should cooperate to solve this pollution problem.
HOW TO KEEP THE ENVIRONMENT CLEAN
As the world climate has change drastically, many people point their fingers as their government and still take government responsibilities for granted. It is notable that the environment nowadays is retrogressing, yet not many people realize it’s unthinkable repercussions. The ice surface in The North Pole is melting due to global warming which is caused by the greenhouse gases which trap heat inside the atmosphere of the earth. Greenpeace reports that melting ice will give way to rising sea level which in turn will inundate low-lying areas like Bangladesh, the coast of Florida and the Nile Delta. Man in every corner of the world is urged to keep the environment clean. There are several ways to alleviate impoverishment.
Firstly, we keep the air clean. But the truth is out there, when you are walking down the street, you can hardly breathe without a gas mask. The government has in its armoury many laws to check air pollution, but from all accounts it is an unphill nettle. One of the worst culprits is open burning, particularly in remote areas. In the agriculture sector, fire remains the cheapest for land clearing and for getting rid of unwanted trees and foliage. This discharge of pollutions is compounded by emissions from factories, motor vehicles and a long list of activities. The scince, Technologies and Environment ministry had decided that all open burning must stop immediately. There must be strict enforcement for the measure to be more effective. Those who burn their household garbage or garden refuse may be lucky to receive a compound fine, ranging from RM5000 to RM200 000. but, they may end up spending up to five years behind bars if they are prosecuted. In this case, the public can assists by reporting any open burning to the authorities. The government can put a control on the fumes emitted by factories, and make it compulsory for all factories owners to have their own air filter fixed. Trees, which are known as carbon dioxide absorbers, also give out oxygen that man needs. Therefore, tree planting campaign is worth a tree.
Secondly, the land that we are living, on must be kept clean too. Customers should avoid using plastics bags and try to use biodegradable materials. We must learn to recycle the rubbish we throw every day. For example, the waste paper can be recycled, turned into a roll of whole new paper. Besides, we earn money as waste paper is hot item among recycling industries. Glass, bottles and aluminium cans are returned to factories to be re-used after proper sterilization. Periodic “gotong-royong” campaign should be carried out in every resident area. In addiotion to this, public must educated no to litter everywhere and be thought the importance of cleanliness.
Finally, for the sake of our next generation, even the next few generations, we must strive at iur best and make every endeavour to protect our Mother earth. Environment is everyone’s matter. Let’s pull together and make it a better place to live.
